Sweet sweet nectar ...

I'm just gonna go ahead and throw it out there ... I feel like a new woman.
Why?
What's my secret you ask?
Sleep and the sweet nectar ... bottled water.

Anytime Rocky asked what we wanted throughout our first day ... bottled water ... was our answer.  By the time we got to the acrobatic show last night and we bought yet another bottled water, he laughed .. bottled water for the show it is!  Most people got popcorn or ice cream ... but water was our vice. :)

To continue our wild and crazy lifestyle ... we were in bed by 8pm.

Now, here I sit, 11 hours later at 7a ... feeling human again.

So ... Rocky rocks.  Again, he's our guide.  He brought us to the Forbidden City and Tian'anmen Square to start our first day.  I think he kept us out of jail ... Haha!  No really.  :).  Holy sensitive guards EVERYWHERE we went.  It was the 25th anniversary of Tian'anmen Square and as we got closer some guard barked at me, waving me over, as Rocky happily continued walking ... So Curt and I yelled for him, he walked over, said a few things to the guard, who asked for our passports, and we walked on.  Then, after watching an older woman scream in Mandarin and yell at guards, while throwing garlic bulbs at an officer's K9 (Rocky explained she was sharing her thoughts of the communist party) ... It was our turn to go through security ... showed our passports again, ran our bags through security ..then bam ... Curt gets surrounded by security guards all speaking tensely in Mandarin.  Rocky gets in the crowd, shares some thoughts and the guards disperse.  Apparently the microphone to Curt's video camera looked too professional.   As we walked away, Curt somewhat laughing, said thanks Rocky, I think you just kept me out of jail.

That was our only excitement ... thankfully ... and off we went to be dorky tourists and took a million pictures of the Forbidden City.  We never did walk into Tian'anmen Square.  Rocky said it was a bad day for us to try.  Think he had enough excitement too.  We took pics from across the street.

We then got a sweet rickshaw ride through the Back Lake Conservation District, then arrived at a home where we proceeded to enjoy one of the best meals we have ever eaten.  I'm not gonna lie, we were both a little worried what we would have to eat.  Dee-lish-us.  Seriously good.  Garlic shoots and pork, Kung Pao Chicken, dumplings, cold beer, etc.  Loved. It.

Later in the evening we watched an acrobatic show ... Really cool.  Then we headed home and crashed by 8 pm ... And again, 11 hours of sleep and finally hydrated again ... Life is good!
