Sweet baby James ...
We are starting to get a few spectacular smiles out of our little guy. For the most part, he's still pretty pensive ... looking around, figuring us out, but amicable.
Nights and nap times are the worst. And quite honestly, after he shared this awesome smile, it wasn't much longer until he shared his worst meltdown yet.
When the day quiets down and we get ready for his nap, or bedtime, he inevitably throws his head back, arches his entire little body and WAILS. ... pretty much for anyone but us.
It's so sad to even try to imagine how scared and upset he must be. It's like the babysitter came ... and oh wait, mom and dad aren't ever coming back for me. I know it will pass ... but wow, is it hard to see him so distraught. Sad, exhausting ... worried someone will knock on our door to complain because everything is so loud, etc.
It's not as bad when he wakes up, but he cries then too. I think he sees us and thinks ... oh right... reality.
For now, I'll try to focus on these awesome smiles he gives up from time to time.
